MedKitDoc is a telemedicine 2.0 provider, i.e. in addition to the
video consultation, the patient’s health data is collected with medical
devices and transmitted live to the doctor via an app.

But more importantly, behind the name is a dedicated and motivated team of medical specialists, economists, in-house
corporate lawyers and software developers. They all have the
aim to bring patients and their therapists together, even over long distances, and thereby revolutionizing the healthcare market.

Our solution works through an interplay of three important components – the MedKit, the MedKitDoc app and our network of specialists. The MedKitDoc app forms the interactive link between the medical devices, the patient and the doctor. With the automated data transfer, the physician is able to make a well-founded diagnosis in real time and thus improve the quality of his of his remote consultation.
MedKitDoc is suitable for all patients, but we see a particularly interesting use case in the area of elderly and chronically ill patients.
Primarily, MedKitDoc is suitable for general practitioners and internists who want to achieve an improved quality of care for their immobile patients. For example, it is possible to equip an MFA or VERAH with a MedKit and send them on home visits. In the case of unclear findings or patients who need to be consulted, the doctor is connected live and can make a diagnosis directly and initiate further treatment steps – without losing time and without having to travel to the patient again. There is also the option of stationing a MedKit in a nursing home. If a patient suddenly falls ill and urgent medical consultation is required outside the regular office hours, then the doctor can carry out tele-treatment and, thanks to the medical equipment, also successfully diagnose the most common causes of treatment, such as pneumonia, wound infections or blood pressure derailments.
MedKitDoc is one of the latest and most innovative telemedicine companies in Germany with the unique combination of a mobile app, medical specialists and certified medical devices. With us, you can make a variety of diagnoses in real time that traditional video consultation providers cannot technically realize due to the limitation to purely visual and auditory treatment.

We place particularly high value on the security of our patients’ data. With end-to-end encrypted video calls as well as DSGVO and MDD compliance, MedKitDoc meets the highest security standards in Germany. You can find out more about this in the data protection FAQ.

The certified devices in the MedKit may be used for examination of children from the age of 8. It is important to note that children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the entire treatment.

The MedKitDoc-App

You can find the MedKitDoc app in the App Store as well as in the Google Play Store for free download.

The app works on the following devices:

  • Apple iPhone, which can run Apple iOS 12 or later.
  • Apple iPad, which can run iPadOS 12 or highero
  • Android device, which can run Android 8.1 or higher
To do this, simply click on “Create account” after the download. To complete the registration successfully, you must enter your e-mail address and set a password. In addition, you will need a device code, which you will receive from us when you order theMedKit. After you have registered, we ask you to fill out all important information (such as known diseases, medication intake or allergies) thoroughly and truthfully, because only then our doctors can get a comprehensive picture of your health condition, make a correct diagnosis and initiate the appropriate therapeutic measures.
You can request an appointment directly on the home screen by clicking the “Book an appointment with a doctor” button. In the request process, you should also specify the reason for consultation and a preferred time slot. Optionally, you can also leave a message for the doctor or upload documents.

Once a doctor has confirmed your appointment request, you will receive a notification on your mobile device. When you click on it, the app opens and you can accept the appointment set by the doctor for a precise time period.

The medical appointments can be canceled at any time. However, out of consideration for the doctors and therapists, it is recommended to cancel the appointment soon as possible, if necessary.
If you have connection problems during the consultation, please check your internet connection first and restart the app in case of emergency. If this does not help, our customer support is available Monday – Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. You can reach our support staff at the following number: 030 30809016 or by email at support@medkitdoc.de. They will be happy to help you or forward you to the appropriate department.
To do so, please contact us by email at support@medkitdoc.de. After your request, we will contact you and delete your account. Of course, we comply with the retention period of medical documentation according to §630f BGB (German Civil Code) and keep your digital patient file for ten years after completion of treatment.
If you have forgotten your password, simply click on “Forgot password?” during registration. Then an unlock link will be sent to you directly by mail, through which you can set a new password. If you simply want to change your password, you can also do this in the personal settings in your profile.
The MedKitDoc app is set up to notify you when a new app update is available. You can then run this via the Appstore or Google Play Store.
No. To register with MedKitDoc, you always need a device code, which you only receive in connection with a MedKit. However, you do not always have to buy a MedKit yourself. It is possible that you use a MedKit that an acquaintance, friend or relative of yours already has at home. Simply ask him for the device code, register with it and use his MedKit for your treatments.

The MedKit

The devices in the MedKit have been selected so that the highest possible number of remote diagnoses can be made with them. These diagnoses cover a large part of the most common causes of consultations with the general practitioner. The following devices are therefore included in the MedKit:

  • Digital stethoscope
  • Digital blood pressure monitor
  • CheckMe Pro included:
    • Infrared thermometer
    • Pulse oximeter
    • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Yes, every single device in the MedKit is medically certified. The medical devices meet European Union standards through CE certification. The medical devices connect easily via Bluetooth. To do this, you need to activate this on your mobile device and the devices will connect automatically.
You will find a suitable charging cable for each device in the MedKit. Simply connect them to the supplied power supply in case the respective battery should be exhausted. However, our devices can easily withstand several teletherapy consultations without having to be recharged in between. The exact details can be found in the instructions for use of the MedKit.
For the care of the devices, feel free to use disinfectant wipes as they are commonly used in the medical environment. Please never dip the devices in disinfectant.
If you have problems with one of the devices, please contact us directly at support@medkitdoc.de or by phone at 030 30809016. We will then contact the manufacturer and replace your defective device immediately.
In the event of damage to the equipment, liability is assumed in accordance with normal liability law.

Yes, the use of a MedKit has no person limit. Individual patients only need to use the same device code when registering, which we will send you when you order.

For care providers

MedKitDoc can be applied in various areas of care. For example, we offer collaboration models with outpatient care services, inpatient care facilities, out-of-hospital intensive care or assisted living. If you do not find your facility here, please contact us anyway. We look forward to finding a solution together with you.

All you need is a good internet connection and an internet-enabled smartphone or tablet on which you can download the MedKitDoc app. Upon request, we will also be happy to send you an iPad. The MedKit comes with a detailed application description and you will also be informed again by the respective doctor about the correct use at each consultation. So you do not need any additional technical knowledge.

Every nurse who will work with the MedKit receives extensive training from us beforehand. They learn not only how to use the equipment correctly, but also how to use the app, including creating patients and making appointments.

In addition, the physicians are available to answer questions during each consultation.

In your care facility, you have the option of connecting with your residents’ primary care physicians and thus simplifying communication channels. In addition to the connection of existing doctors, there is the possibility to request additional specialists, e.g. at off-peak times, via the MedKitDoc app. Our doctors all have a German license to practice and a specialist title.
Private health insurance covers the costs in full. If your residents have statutory health insurance, only their regular doctor or internist as a partner doctor of MedKitDoc can bill the video consultation through his or her practice. If your residents use the services of another specialist, the consultation costs must unfortunately still be borne by themselves at the moment.

If your patients are privately insured, prescriptions will still be sent to you by mail for data protection reasons. As soon as the telematics infrastructure is further expanded in Germany – probably from 01.01.2022 – we will also be able to send you the prescriptions and certificates electronically. If your patients have statutory health insurance and their doctor or internist is in the MedKitDoc network, you can pick up the prescriptions at the local doctor’s office. In exceptional cases, the doctor can also send you the documents and certificates. Please discuss this with him or her. If your patients have statutory insurance and you use the services of another specialist, then unfortunately we can currently only issue private prescriptions. These will be sent to you by mail for data protection reasons.

No. MedKitDoc is never intended to replace primary care physicians, but to provide an additional complementary healthcare solution that you can use outside of regular office hours.

Of course, we comply with the retention period of medical documentation according to §630f BGB (German Civil Code) and keep the digital patient file for a period of ten years after completion of treatment. 

For doctors

We have different models for physicians with and without practice. These differ primarily in the scope and type of patients. While freelance physicians can treat our patients throughout Germany from their home offices, physicians with a practice also have the option of equipping an MFA or VERAH with a MedKit and sending them on home visits. In the case of unclear findings or patients who need to be consulted, the physician can then connect live and make a diagnosis directly and initiate further treatment steps – without wasting time and without having to travel to the patient again. If a patient suddenly falls ill and urgently requires a medical consultation outside of the regular office hours, then the doctor can carry out tele-treatment and, thanks to the medical devices, also successfully diagnose the most common causes of treatment, such as pneumonia, wound infections or blood pressure derailments.
Only doctors with a German license to practice and a specialist certificate work with us. Apart from that, however, you do not need any previous experience with remote consultations or similar. We conduct special training so that you and your practice team also feel confident in using all the equipment and the video consultation with the medical examinations can be carried out efficiently and without any problems.

For doctors with a practice

You have the possibility to digitize your home visits with the help of MedKitDoc. Thanks to our solution, you no longer need to be on-site with all patients, but can send your MFA or VERAH to many of your home visits. This saves you valuable time and allows you to treat more patients. At the same time, you can guarantee them a high quality of care and save yourself the travel costs. In addition, you can generate extra income during off-peak hours or on weekends or holidays by treating patients from all over Germany via the MedKitDoc platform.

No, you also have the option to treat any patient registered with MedKitDoc who requests a specialist consultation outside of regular office hours.

You can write a doctors’ letter in the app and provide it to the patient immediately after the consultation. For privately insured patients, the prescriptions and certificates of incapacity for work must still be sent by mail or picked up at the practice for data protection reasons. For patients with statutory insurance, it is unfortunately only possible to issue private prescriptions and send them by mail. Unfortunately, we cannot certify sick leaves.

Billing takes place as usual via your practice or KV seat according to the GOÄ.

For Freelance Doctors

As a freelancer, you will earn a set hourly wage, based on the on-call rates for physicians

In general, MedKitDoc allows you to treat all patients from all over Germany, which are registered with MedKitDoc.

You can write a doctors’ letter in the app and provide it to the patient immediately after the consultation. For privately insured patients, the prescriptions and sick leaves must still be sent by mail for data protection reasons. For patients with statutory insurance, it is unfortunately only possible to issue private prescriptions and send them by mail. Unfortunately, we cannot certify sick leaves.

Billing is done via MedKitDoc. We take care of all the bureaucracy, you take care of your patients.

You decide for yourself how many appointments you take and can thus organize your working day completely freely and independently. For example, you can offer your consultation hours on a fixed day every week or you can offer treatments spontaneously.

Privacy policy

As in any normal practice, the confidentiality of doctors and therapists applies to us, of course. For this purpose, your video calls and the measurement data are encrypted end-to-end so that your data remains completely confidential. In addition, your data is stored on German servers. You can find more detailed information in our privacy policy.
Your health data will only be disclosed to your treating doctors or therapists so that they can coordinate and optimize your treatment. Of course, you have the right to object the disclosure of your data to the other MedKitDoc doctors and therapists at any time. Unfortunately then further treatment via MedKitDoc is no longer possible. You can find more detailed information in our privacy policy.
MedKitDoc is fully compliant with the strict quality, safety and data protection requirements of the Medical Devices Act, and the Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO). For more detailed information, please see our privacy policy.
